This article explains how the SQL user table integrates with the SQL Workgroups & Roles table

The table used in SQL to ingrate a user with a workgroup or role is USERGROUP. Here, there are 3 different fields:

COMPANYID - Clients can have multiple “companies” or instances of the Learning Management System (iLS) running under the same database. This field assigns a number to each company.

USERPRID - This is a unique auto increment number assigned by SQL for each new user added to the Learning Management System (iLS).

ILSGROUPID - This is a unique auto increment number assigned by SQL for each new workgroup or role added to the Learning Management System (iLS).

The USERPRID is an internal numeric field also located in the USERPROFILE table. This field creates the relationship between the user profile and his or her workgroup and role.

SQL Table Information For Workgroups And Roles

This article explains the breakdown of the table in SQL which holds workgroups and roles.

The table in SQL which holds the workgroup and role information is the ILSGROUP table. There are 5 fields which describe each workgroup or role.

COMPANYID - Clients can have multiple “companies” or instances of the Learning Management System (iLS) running under the same database. This field assigns a number to each company.

ILSGROUPID - This is an auto increment number assigned by SQL for each new workgroup or role added to the Learning Management System (iLS).

GROUPNAME - This holds the name given to a workgroup or role by the administrator.

GROUPDESC - This holds the description of a workgroup or role by the administrator. This can be blank as a description is not required when creating a workgroup or role.

GROUPTYPEID - This dictates whether the field is a workgroup or a role. A value of "1" is used for a role and a value of "2" is used for a workgroup.

Changing the passing score in the Learning Management System (iLS)

By default, the passing score for every course is 100. This can be changed to any number desired, however, it needs to be updated in two places. The first can be done by either a Manager or the Administrator of the system under the edit option of any course. The other place is in the course itself, which can only be done by SSi. If the passing score needs to be changed, please contact SSi.

1. Log into the web server with Administrator access.

2. Navigate to the following path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\

3. Open the file: MetaBase.xml

4. Search for this string: AspMaxRequestEntityAllowed

5. The amount in quotes by default is small. It should say 204800, this however is in bytes. This is only about 200KB.

5. Change this amount to any desired amount.

Tomcat using 100% CPU

There are certain instances were a bug is triggered in Tomcat where it will completely use the CPU, making a server and also the Learning Management System (iLS) almost unusable. The bug is located in the tcnative-1.dll file.

To fix this issue, simply download the newer version of the .dll file, found here:

We have tested up to version 1.1.16.

Here is a description of what each log file level means:

Fatal – Very severe error events which will presumably lead the application to abort.

Error – Error events which might still allow the application to continue running.

Warn – Potentially harmful situations.

Info – Informational messages which highlight the progress of the application at coarse-grained level.

Debug – Fine-grained informational events which are most useful to debug an application.

Trace – This will log every level.

How to change the log file size and location

These changes can only be made by an Administrator or Manager who has been given access

All of the log changes are done in the System Management panel.

To change the log file location, simply go to the Log Folder line and enter in the desired path.

Note: If you want to place the log files in a specific folder, that folder would need to be created on the server before entering it here.

To change the size of the individual log files, simply go to the Log File Max Size line and enter in the desired size (in KB).

How to delete inactive users

Only Administrators and Managers who have been given access to the Utilities panel can perform this operation.

1. Click on Utilities.

2. In the System Maintenance window, the first line says "Delete Inactive Users Older Than." After that enter in the amount of days in the box.

3. Click RUN.

4. You will receive a pop-up asking you if this is ok and it will confirm the amount of days you entered.

5. After you click ok, you will receive another pop-up asking you to enter in YES to acknowledge the deletion. The window will also tell you how many users will be deleted.

Note: The deletion cannot be undone.

How to force a retake of a course

Article Subject: How to force a retake of a course

This article describes how to force a retake of a course, if a person has some type of violation or infraction.

You must be a Manager or Administrator in order for this process to work and the user must have already completed the course as well.

1. Click on Student Records

2. Find the user you want to force a retake. You can search by their last name or by their Employee ID.

3. Click on the users name to open their specific records.

4. Click on the text "ASSIGN RETAKE".

5. You will then receive a pop-up asking the reason for the forced retake. Enter the reason and click OK.

6. Once the user logs back in, there will be a yellow button saying "Re-Take."

Recurrent Training Is Not Working

Article Subject: Recurrent Training Is Not Working.

When the days set for recurrent training in a particular course is met, recurrent training is not automatically assigned. A job has to be run manually in order for this to happen.

There are two different ways this can be run manually:

In A Course:

1. Click on Course Management.

2. Find the course you want to assign recurrent training to and check the box next to it.

3. Select Edit at the top of the Course Listing and click Perform Action

4. Near the bottom of the Edit Course window, there will be an option named "Reassign Now As Recurrent Training To All Applicable Users." Click the RUN button.

Note: This assigns recurrent training for courses individually. If you want to reassign recurrent training for all courses, see the next section.

In The Utilities Panel:

1. Click on Utilities.

2. In the System Maintenance window, the second option "Assign Recurrent Training To All Applicable Users."

3. Click RUN
